28 October 2010 News - Wine

If you are one of these wine lovers for whom the dry white wine “Y” is a delight quite as much enjoyable than “Yquem”, you would be happy to know that “Y” 2008 was released yesterday. The Yquem team tasted it, and gives you its first impressions.

Tasting notes from the Yquem team

“Very brilliant pale yellow color, the first nose has menthol nuances and it is accompanied by  hints of thyme. The second nose is fruity it is characterized by hints of pear, grapefruit, pineapple. Then a third nose appears after the aeration: there are more floral hints, but as well hints of plum which provide elegance to the whole. The general olfactory impression recalls the specific personality of Y in the classical vintages (2000-2005-2006).

The wine starts out quite lively on the palate. There is a nice acidity in that wine which is followed by a great roundness creating a lasting delight of the senses.

That Y character will be a long life span vintage.
