Château d’Yquem 2008, tasted by the team
15 March 2011 Wine
Last thursday, Yquem team gathered around Sandrine Garbay to taste our 2008 vintage before the end of june, time at which it will be available. First impressions :
“Delicate golden colour.
The first impression on the nose is extremely attractive and fruity, with pineapple, white peach, dried apricot, and fruit paste aromas.
The bouquet goes on to reveal hints of almonds, dragées, and plum tart, with the lusciousness typical of the greatest Sémillons.
The wine is incredibly round on the palate.
Immediately pleasurable, it is also well-balanced, tasty, and long thanks to excellent underlying acidity.
Make no mistake, this vintage of Yquem, is extremely pure and classical, and will become one of the estate’s benchmarks.”
Good news as this was a very attractively priced d’Yquem. Complete agreement with our opinion at http://bordeauxgold.com/chateau-dyquem-2008/
